Seasons and Times of Day
Best Seasons
Spring (April - May): This is arguably the most beautiful time to visit. The weather is pleasant, and the gardens are in full bloom with wisteria, roses, and irises. The Bardini Garden, included in your ticket, is particularly famous for its spectacular wisteria tunnel in April.
Autumn (September - October): The crowds of summer begin to thin, and the weather is still mild. The foliage turns to beautiful shades of gold and red, offering a different but equally stunning photographic experience.
Summer (June - August): The gardens are lush and green, but can be very hot and crowded. If visiting in summer, aim for early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat.
Winter (November - February): The quietest season. While there are no flowers, the stark beauty of the statues, fountains, and architectural layout is more prominent. It's a peaceful, contemplative time to visit.
Best Time of Day
Early Morning (8:15 AM - 10:00 AM): The best time to avoid crowds and enjoy the soft morning light. You can explore the most popular areas like the Amphitheater and Buontalenti Grotto in relative peace.
Late Afternoon (after 3:00 PM): Crowds tend to decrease later in the day. The "golden hour" before closing provides beautiful light for photos and a romantic atmosphere.
