Navigating the Gardens
For Wheelchair Users
The garden's landscape includes steep slopes, gravel paths, and stairs, which can be very difficult for manual wheelchair users. The main entrance via the Pitti Palace courtyard offers the most level access to the Amphitheater area. However, reaching the upper gardens and the Viottolone can be challenging.
The Uffizi Galleries offer two electric scooters for visitors with mobility impairments, which can be booked in advance by contacting the accessibility department on the official website. This is the recommended way for wheelchair users to experience more of the gardens.
Other Information
Accessible restrooms are available near the Amphitheater. Companions of visitors with a certified disability are granted free admission. While the gardens themselves present challenges, the adjacent Pitti Palace has better accessibility with elevators to most of its galleries.
